Ministry of Transports and Infrastructure (MTI) informed on Wednesday over the current situation in national road axes. 

Situation in the northern district of Shkodra remains invariable. Contractors continue to clean the snow from the road axes and pour snow to avoid vehicles sliding due to the ice layers. Thick layers of snow are registered in some turns, due to the strong winds.

The southern district of Korça road axes are passable without snow chains. The use of chains is recommended only in the Lunik - Stebleve road axis. 

Meanwhile road maintenance companies kept removing the snow from the Tepelena - Gjirokaster and Gjirokaster - Kakavije road axes where vehicles circulation is allowed only with snow chains.

MTI underlined that contractors are being carefully monitored in every road axis aiming to guarantee the safety of the vehicles circulating during these extremely low temperatures.
