‘Czech executive harsh stance toward Albania on CEZ issue.' This declaration was made by Prime Minister, Edi Rama during his testimony on Thursday in front of the Inquiring Committee on this issue. The last declared that Czech executive aroused concern over the previous Albanian executive toward ‘CEZ’ company.

Asked if the Czech executive had threatened to veto the EU candidate status for Albania PM Rama declared that pressures had been made, a fact that led to direct contacts with Czech counterpart, Bohuslav Sobotka seeking a compromise.

On the other side PM Rama said that the final settlement was the best solution for the country, on view of the fact that his government inherited a weakened position, thus an amicable solution was the best option.

“The complicated situation we inherited from the past government urged us to quickly resolve this issue. Let’s not forget that losses on October 2013 were around 50%, let’s not forget the difficult financial situation and the fact that we found ourselves forces to call the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ‘firefighters’. The World Bank (WB) and IMF urged us to quickly resolve this issue,” said the chief of executive, adding that amicable solution prevailed under these circumstances where country was facing the risk of financial and energetic collapse.
