Some young activists of the Democratic Party chose a singular form of protest on Wednesday against cannabis massive cultivation in Albania. They planted a number of cannabis saplings in some pots in front of Prime Minister, Edi Rama office bringing in focus this illicit widespread phenomenon.
This protest’ organizer, Valbona Mehilli declared that their choice was conditioned on the fact that this was the only unoccupied public space.
“We are a group of educated and yet unemployed young boys and girls. Left wing executive pays no attention to our needs. Narcotics cultivation is executive’s only alternative, while even the land is occupied by criminals linked to PM Rama. Thus, we chose the only unoccupied space, with the certitude that the chief of executive will safeguard these saplings,” said Mehilli.
