Some 700 kg of Cannabis Sativa were seized by the police in Durresi harbor while being transported to Italy. The large quantity of narcotics was found hidden in a truck loaded with fason industry materials. A routine scanning of the truck by customs officials rose suspicions leading to the narcotics unveiling by border police.
“497 packages with a total weight of 700 kilograms were seized at the end of a minute inspection of an ‘Iveco’ truck platted AA 475 LO” informed Durresi police.
Truck’s driver, L.S. was arrested in flagrance and is being interrogated by the police officers. According to the preliminary information he continues to deny any knowledge over this illicit cargo.
Meanwhile the confection company owner, K.Z.51, whose materials were being transported, has been declared wanted by the police.
