Italian police seized a quantity of 1.65 ton of narcotics on Saturday in a speedboat sailing close to Brindisi coast, leading to the arrest of three Albanians. A 10-meters long speedboat was captured after a brief pursuit during early morning hours. A gun with 5 bullets was also seized by the police in quality of material proof.
The narcotics quantity had been divided in small packages and the Albanian traffickers tried to dump it at sea while being pursued by the police.
Preliminary inquiry shows that Albania was the country of origin of this large quantity of narcotics.
