Energy Community, Lawsuit against Serbia for Interconnection Line Obstruction
October 14, 2016

The Energy Community has filed a lawsuit against Serbia on Friday in accordance to the complaints by Albania and Kosovo for the interconnection between two countries.

The Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri declared during the Ministers of Energy Council meeting on Friday that this new line has not yet been operative due to Serbia’s objection.

The Energy Community lawsuit demands a definitive answer by Serbia on this issue until December 31.

This new line may become operative as soon as Kosovo’s Energy Transmission System (KETS) is recognized by the European Network of Energy Transmission (ENET). This means that KETS division from the Serbia’s Energy Transmission System (SETS) should be recognized.

This issue is also part of the talks between those two countries.
