Kodheli: No Former Secret Service Member in the Intelligent Service
October 14, 2016

Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli rejected the opposition’s accusations that former Secret Service officers are currently employed in the Army’s Intelligent Service (AIS). During her speech in parliament she guaranteed that only 18 civilians have been appointed in this agency since October 2013, the rest are militaries or ex-militaries related to this service. The average age of those 18 individuals is 33.5, a fact which proves that they could not have been involved in previous activities.

Kodheli stressed that differently from the period of Democratic Party governance the number of AIS employees has been subject to decrease due to the fact that nepotism is no longer used during personnel’s appointment.
