“Migjen’s Motives’ Festival was organized during this weekend in the northern city of Puka in presence of writers, readers and book lovers. This festival was organized as a commemoration of the known poet 105th anniversary of birth, and also as part of the “Let’s meet for a book” campaign promoted by the Ministry of Culture.

The participants placed flowers in Migjen’s statue situated in the city’s center as the best form to honor this great master of Albanian literature. Then, more than 60 poets competed with their creations and performances.

The known artist Tinka Kurti, present during this activity, said that Migjeni had always been a source of inspiration for her.

“He is one of a kind. I live with him wherever I go, I am this person thanks to his inspiration” said Kurti.

Millosh Gjergj Nikolla, largely known as Migjeni, is seen as one of the most important poets of the 20th century. He was an innovative voice for his era in the aspect of the creations and the large influence on the Albanian literature.
