Rama to the Mayors: Cooperation with Recycling Industry, Necessity
October 7, 2016

Prime Minister, Edi Rama reinstated one more time the determination to give a hand to the recycling industry in Albania. During a meeting on Friday with a number of mayors and the recycling industry representatives PM Rama said that currently the City Halls possess the capacities for waste division in specific bins.

“The recycling industry operators are invited to join an interaction process with each other while becoming City Halls partners in the cleaning process. On the other side City Halls must take care of waste division through specific containers,” said PM Rama.

Referring to the waste import from abroad PM Rama stressed that the import of garbage destination to incineration will be strictly prohibited.

“The authorization for waste import will be given to the subjects operating in recycling sector. The absence of such step would mean a large scale loss in some plans. The waste law failure to be adopted would cause a financial damage of Euro 234 million in the technological aspect,” said PM Rama.

He declared that recycling industry must be one the promoters of country’s economic development.
