Prosecution Gives Closing Statement on ‘Lazarat Group’ Case

Prosecution of Serious Crimes gave on Wednesday the closing statement on the case of the 'Lazarat group'. The said group is charged with the offences of "refusing a police officer carrying a firearm" and also for "cultivation and commerce of narcotic plants." Prosecution requested a sentence of 18 years imprisonment for Gate Mahmutaj, 17 years for Arjan Basha, 14 years for Ramadan Basha, 13 years for Alteo Haska, 12 years for Enkeled Aliko, 11 years for Matia Bocaj, 8 years for Vandam Mahmutaj, 7 years for Klajdi Karemani, 7 years for Lorenc Bregu and 3 years imprisonment for Drini Aliko.

All the said citizens have opened fire on Police in June, 2014, in the rebellious village of Lazarat, where Police started for the first time the operation for the destruction of narcotic plantations.
