The EU Ambassador in Albania, Romana Vlahutin, said on Monday that the judicial reform is as important as the student movement of 25 years ago. She suggested more courage and said that the reforms will not stop, since they are the only way for Albania to become like Europe.
"People chanted 25 years ago that they wanted Albania like all Europe. This is the basis of the reform. 25 years ago, it required a lot of courage to go on the streets and ask for freedom. More courage than what is needed today to realize this reform. Hence, there is no excuse for all of those who think that they can stop this process with arrogance, manipulation or aggressive lobbying," said Vlahutin. She underlined that the reform is not being done against judges and prosecutors, but for judges and prosecutors, so that the rule of law and truth can be the only followed authority.
