Bankers Petroleum Company and Albanian Government seem to have reached an agreement. The Canadian Company will pay 7.5 billion of liabilities to the Albanian State until the end of 2016. Based on the Ministry of Finance’s audit, this sum of money has been a fiscal obligation since 2011.
Sources informed that an agreement was reached between the parties, and Bankers will pay this amount in instalments. Bankers and Albanian Government are in a bad relationship for many years. Recently, the Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri said that they will face each-other at the Arbitration Court.
