Who wants to use a luxury car in Albania is obliged to pay more taxes starting from January 2016. The new Fiscal package foresees more taxes for luxury cars. According to the Minister of Finance, Shkelqim Cani, in this category are comprised all the car engines with cylinder capacity of 3,000cc. This proposal caused debates at the Parliamentary Committee over Economic issues. Democrat MP, Edmond Spaho, said that this is not fair, because in Albania there are around 11,000 cars with the said parameters.
"This tax affects only 2.8% of the whole population," said Cani, adding further that he does not believe that there exist 11,000 families in Albania, owning cars with the same set of parameters of luxury cars.
