Albania with a Decriminalization Law, No Drug Testing for High Officials

Finally, after months of debates and disputes the Special Commission voted on Friday the new Law on Decriminalization. All parties agreed to vote it without including in this new Law the most concerning issue which is related to the drug test for politicians and elected high level officials.

Socialist MP, Taulant Balla said after the meeting that this law is a big process. "From now on, no political figure can make politics around Europe saying that Albania is a place where criminals move in and out public institutions," said Balla. Meanwhile, Democrat MP, Oerd Bylykbashi said that Constitutional Amendments will be an important stronghold for anyone that pretends to use the Law for their political interests.
