Minister of Interior Affairs, Saimir Tahiri, presented on Friday the new Ethic Code for State Police. Speaking at the ceremony, Tahiri said that more willpower is required from police officers to make this code effective. Meanwhile, Director of State Police, Haki Cako said that this code will help the behavior of the police effectiveness, for better collaboration in order to boost the image of police forces.
The new Code received the appreciation of the American Ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu. During his speech at this ceremony, he said that this code obliges police to be more responsible, not to drink or smoke.
“I appreciate this Code. It defines specifically that police officers should not smoke, drink alcohol or take money from the citizens. It would be meaningless if this document will not be perceived by police and they will not discuss it among them,” said Lu.
