Decriminalization Process, SMI Makes Clear Its Position

The Vice Chairman of Socialist Movement of Integration, Petrit Vasili made clear on Wednesday that the position of SMI on the decriminalization process has not changed. “Our position on the issue of decriminalization remains unchanged. Decriminalization initiative needs consensus.

Some 90% of all the drafts presented for decriminalization are similar. In case of those drafts which present disagreements we shall ask the Venice Commission's advice, and the opinion given will be undisputable for all parties,” said Vasili. He added that any initiative undertaken to accomplish constitutional amendments must pass through the ad-hoc parliamentary committee.
