Tax Changes, IMF Proposes Taxation Even for Low Wages

Ministry of Finances proposed a new project on taxation. This institution has consulted the experts and stakeholders on the possible changes of the actual scheme of taxes. The new draft of International Monetary Fund proposed a special tax rate on incomes by introducing taxation on low wages, which have been excluded so far. More specifically, according to the Article 25 of the draft, the income level from 0 to 180 thousand Lek per year will be taxed up to 5 percent, instead of 0 percent that has been so far.
