Ombudsman Letter to Three Institutions for Roma Families

Ombudsman Igli Totozani wrote a letter to three institutions for nine Roma families that risk their homes from the constructions of the “Great Ring” road. His office informed on Friday that Totozani has written to Tirana Municipality, ALUIZNI and IKMT to verify all the procedures before the interventions on Roma families and to take all the measures to treat these families.

“All operations must be stopped until a decision of the Municipality of Tirana," reads the letter of the Ombudsman directed to Municipality's IKMT and ALUIZNI. He has launched an investigation into the application of the legal procedures for the demolition of the houses affected by the construction of the Great Ring Road after the complaints of these families.
