Government Promises New Law for Decriminalization on Autumn

Government decided to complete the decriminalization process on Autumn. The deputy Minister of Interior Affairs, Elona Gjebrea, speaking on a press conference, said that very soon all the people with criminal records will be outside the politics. According to her, in Autumn the government will implement a new law that will stop the involvement of persons with criminal records in politics.

"Speaking for the MP that was mentioned on the report of U.S. State Department, the government is determined to realize in cooperation with the international factor a new law to resolve once and for all this issue," said Gjebrea.

Albania failed to accomplish the decriminalization process before the local elections held on 21 June.
