The Democratic Party's MP, Enkelejd Alibeaj, accused on Thursday during a press conference, the Independent Qualification Committee (IQC), for working under Prime Minister Edi Rama's orders.
According to him, Vetting is an orchestrated farce by Edi Rama to capture the justice system, bringing the case to an inadequate judge who passed the process on the Prime Minister's orders.
"Since the government is silent on the arbitrary decisions of the Vetting committee, the Democratic Party is bringing today a denunciation of how this panel is undermining the process and putting justice in the hands of Edi Rama. Ilir Toska, Judge of the Court of Appeals in Tirana, passed the verdict in June, although the Classified Information Security Directorate (CISD) had submitted to the IQC a report that considered him inadequate to pursue a career in justice. According to the CISD report, Toska has received money in the presence of an officer of the Interior Ministry to not give a disciplinary measure against a judge. However, Ilir Toska successfully passed Vetting because he is Edi Rama's candidate for the High Judicial Council," said Alibeaj.
Ilir Toska passed the Vetting in June, while during the hearing session, the IQC rapporteur noted the CISD's file, which qualified the judge as inadequate, but said that the report was unproven and did not even consider it during the process.
