Independent Qualification Committee (IQC) declared on Wednesday that Prosecutor of Tirana Prosecution, Arben Nela has concealed wealth.
The jury comprised of Etleda Ciftja, Valbona Sanxhaktari and Pamela Qirko revealed that the declaration of assets by provided by prosecutor Nela is not accurate.
The prosecutor owns an apartment 99.4 square meters, bought for EUR 41.000 together with his wife. Nela declared that he has bought it with his and his wife's savings from their respective jobs.
The prosecutor stated that he has borrowed EUR 25.000 from his sister in law, in order to buy the house.
IQC disclosed that there are discrepancies in wealth declaration regarding this apartment, while it remains unclear when he has borrowed and returned the loan from his sister in law.
Arben Nela defended himself by saying that he has no concealed wealth, but IQC has not made an accurate examination of his assets.
