The President of the EuropeaN Council, Donald Tusk had a meeting with Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama this Saturday. Part of the discussions were the government's reform for the opening of accession talks and Tuks added that Albania must close the new path of illegal immigration to the EU.
According to him, the set conditions are clear and Brussels seeks in three main directions, lasting results until June 2019 in order to open accession negotiations with Albania.
"I have no doubt that if Albania continues with this pace of reform, it will be able to achieve all the results required by June. Albania's efforts to smooth the divergence with Greece are the best evidence of its commitment to the EU and good neighborly relations. We have agreed to increase the efforts regarding the closure of the new illegal immigration route in Albania," said Tusk.
