Albanian Public Debt from Milliard to Trillions

For the first time the public debt passed the limit of Lek one thousand milliard and starting from Monday it is calculated with trillions.

The latest official data from the Ministry of Finance show that at the end of the first half of this year the national debt amounted to 1 trillion and 15 milliard and 324 million lek.

The majority of this debt has been taken directly by the government, while Lek 60 milliard are loans of public enterprises. Compared with the end of last year, the figures show that the debt has increased by Lek 38 milliard.
