The Interior Minster of Albania, Fatmir Xhafaj, has reacted this Friday by defending the bad results after the report of the American State Department (ASD), where they said that the Albanian government does not fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking in human beings.
During the "Call for Action - Together Against Modern Slavery and Trafficking in Persons" activity, he said that the Albanian government has taken some steps against this phenomenon by underlining that this is one of the key priorities and that the realization of this project requires regional and national cooperation.
He added that the government has drafted a national plan for the years 2018-2020, which foresees the strategies and objectives for all public institutions, and that the first priority is the protection of children's rights.
