Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the award won in Spain for the best public space in 'Skenderbeg' Square is the best reward for a great work done starting from the design to the construction/
Veliaj drew yesterday in Barcelona the great award for Scanderbeg Square, which was selected by an international professional jury, as the best public and urban space in Europe for 2018.
"We are all so happy that Tirana was evaluated today in Barcelona with the most prestigious award for public space in Europe. We won the prize as the best public space in Europe competing with over 32 countries and 279 projects. I do not believe there is a greater blessing and reward for this colossal work that began with Edi Rama and the Tirana Municipality team in 2000, then in 2008," said Mayor Veliaj after receiving the prize.
He emphasized that this award honors every Tirana citizen who believed in change and once again shows that when there is cooperation and understanding, very good things can be done that are even internationally evaluated.
