Rama's Promise: 40 Expensive Medications Free to Hospitals

At the end of the Government's meeting in Durres on Tuesday evening, Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke even for the medicines in hospitals all over the country.
According to him, 40 expensive medications that cure cardiovascular and tumor diseases will be taken free of charge from all patients in the Albanian hospitals.
"Hospitals should walk with the time in order to treat the most dangerous diseases. We have included the Herceptin, that is expensive medicine, as well as over 40 medications for cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases," said Rama.
He also warned all of the hospitals directors, who will release prescriptions for those medications, which patients can found inside the institution.
"Also, I have a strict order that will have consequences for anyone who breaches the report in every case when it is found that patients will be given prescriptions to buy medications out of the hospital,while they will be available inside the institution," warned Rama.
