For the first time in Tirana, Triathlon race will be developed in Farke, by including: swimming, cycling and running. Hundreds of athletes will compete this Sunday along a well-defined route from the Municipality of Tirana.
The Mayor, Erion Veliaj, said that activities of this nature are promoting Tirana more and more and that the city is emerging in a fantastic destination in the Balkans.
"After organizing the Marathon of Tirana for two consecutive years and concerts of Rita Ora and Ermal Meta, there are no doubts about what these activities bring to our city; tourism, promotion and raising the name of the city. So all these are related and are part of a great strategy where as many activities take place in Tirana, the more it will be mentioned as a tourist destination for the Balkans," said Veliaj.
He added that such sports activities, like Tirana Marathon in October, are giving a positive impulse to the city's economy, and bringing a large number of visitors. To turn this sports competition on a holiday day, the Municipality of Tirana invites all the citizens who do not compete, to come out and support participating athletes.
