Confindustria Critics Against IMF in Albania for the Fiscal Policies

Confindustria in Albania estimates that the fiscal policies undertaken in the past 2 years with the request of the government and the approval of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) could not support the economic growth, showing clear signsof failure in collection of revenues. This organization blamed IMF for the failure of the fiscal and financial policies.

"The failure of tax and custom incomes planned for the first six months of 2015 with over Lek 8 billion clearly shows a low fiscal performance of the country. Confindustria warned in time and repeatedly, that the following fiscal packages of the last 2 years that was adopted by the executive and approved by the IMF, which are based on increasing fiscal burden and drank the simplified tax system, do not fit the essence of the Albanian economy and they will produce negative consequences regarding the sustainable development of the country," said the General Administrator Gjergj Buxhuku.
