The Chairman of Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha had a meeting on Friday with Austrian People's Party MPs, Reinhold Lopatka and Michael Hammer. In a public declaration at the end of the meeting, Basha said that he requested to the Austrian MPs the opening of accession talks.
Meanwhile one of the Austrian MPs, Lopatka said that Austria is in favor of the opening of negotiations with Albania and added that the fight against organized crime is essential.
Lopatka expressed his concerns on the way how the case of the Interior Minister is being treated.
"As you may know, Austria has supported Albania towards EU. We had the opportunity to exchange ideas and this process is backed by both pairs." said Lopatka.
