The rehabilitation of the Tirana-Durres railroad and its new construction towards the International Airport of Tirana gained the award of EMEA finance "The best railroad project of 2017."
The awards were delivered in London July, 6 2018 and are a marked event in the global calendar of projects financing.
The loan of 36.87 million euro by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (ERBD) is backed by an investment grant 35.4 billion euro of the Investment Platform for Western Balkans.
The project is part of Route 2, the Main Network of Western Balkans that connects Podgorica and Vlora.
The general investments of ERBD in Albania are evaluated to be more than 1 billion euro for more than 80 projects.
