Albania will be hit by extreme hot waves as a result of climate change, while the precipitation trend is falling.
These are the results of a study by the Regional Cooperation Council, related to climate change in the Western Balkans. According to them, the economies of the region are considered in the mid to high risk countries.
The temperature rise is intensifying from the south to the north. The Republic of Macedonia and the central and southern parts of Albania have variations in the interval 0.5-1 degrees Celsius, while in the northern Albania and in four other Western Balkan economies in the interval, 1-1.5 grade Celsius.
