Germany Supports Anti-Theft Task Force

In support of the Albanian anti-theft task force, the German Federal Criminal Police Office has granted two vehicles and some communication tools to the "Anti-Falcon" Task Force created by the State Police to combat criminal groups who commit property crime in the European Union countries.
In this context, the German Ambassador to Albania, Susanne Schutz was received in a meeting by the General Director of State Police Ardi Veliu, as well as representatives of the "Anti-Falcon" Task Force.
Handing over two vehicles and several smart phones to the anti-theft task force at the State Police, German Ambassador Schutz stressed the importance of mobility and communication is essential to this unity, and thanked the Albanian State Police for setting up the "Anti-Falcon" Task Force, also on behalf of the President of the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany.
In 2016, the German police dealt with over 150,000 burglaries. Among non-German suspects, Albanian citizens ranked third in both 2016 and 2017.
In 2017, German police registered 578 Albanian citizens as suspects, while in many cases a criminal has committed a large number of burglaries.
The offence of burglary is punishable by up to ten years imprisonment in Germany. The German police and judiciary have significantly intensified their measures to combat burglary and place great importance to international cooperation.
