The Institute of Statistics of Albania (INSTAT) informed on Wednesday that the number of fast killing diseases, especially the cardiovascular and tumor ones has increased significantly.
Malignant diseases were the second cause of deaths in Albania in 2017.
As the population is shrinking and as more and more people are leaving the country, the number of people that die from these diseases is growing also.
But the most problematic issue, is the fact that malignant diseases are spreading to younger ages, chiefly women from breast cancer and men of prostate. The cities that registered the highest number of deaths are Gjirokastra and Korca.
