Dozens of students from various schools in the capital became part of the competition "You Can", for the best idea of youth awareness on waste differentiation and recycling.
Their work was presented on Friday at an event in the Youth Park, where the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that culture to keep a clean city starts from school desks.
"A pure mentality, a culture that loves the city with hygiene, that cultivates the sense of recycling and which starts this from school banks, is a city that has a future. Sidewalks are for walking, markets are to sell, garbage is to be thrown into the bin, the traffic light is to respect circulation and public space is to be enjoyed by everyone. I know how difficult it is to be a teacher. In fact, a teacher is not just someone who teaches, is a psychologist, a mentor, a counselor, and someone who hears," said Veliaj.
After his speech, together with The Eco Tirana administrator, Diego Testi, shared the winning prizes for the capital's schools, which presented the best idea and works.
