The President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, was present in the activity held on Wednesday at the Kruja Museum by the Arberesh Society of Calabria "Magna Grecia Off-Road", commemorating the historic journey of the national hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg.
The head of the state welcomed this activity while thanking the Minister of Culture and Irena and Fatmir Toçi for their commitment to strengthening the ties of culture and in many other areas with the Arberesh community.
"I think we have an inseparable trinomial: Skanderbeg - Arberesh - and Albania. Without Skanderbeg we would not have had Arberesh. Without Arberesh, Skanderbeg's figure could have been lost, or the others had been taken away from us. I think this tour you organize is not casual because you constantly do this and it is very meaningful. This is Skanderbeg's Nationwide Year. So it is a year that we believe will bring Albania's accession negotiations to the European Union," said Meta during his speech.
