The chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha has admitted his mistakes as head of the party during the National Parliament session while addressing DP members and as well as key figures.

I admit my mistakes but everything I have done was intended to help citizens. I am aware of my mistakes but they are a result of circumstances. I have heard your remarks and I have your support. I am convinced that learning from mistakes shall help us strengthen the DP. During the last months I have been targeted by personal accusations. I have decided not to respond to them because as the leader of the Democratic Party it is my job to be more patient, cautious and not to retort to anger and personal warfare through anger and warfare from the chairman position", Basha said, also accusing the government of failing.

"Their governance has failed but we did not manage to take our reaction to the next level. Today, I would like to address every DP member and supporter and appeal to anyone who wants to join us to return hope and belief in a better future", Basha is reported to have said.

After appealing to democrats, Basha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of installing a private government, saying that there are three facts which confirm it: Kukesi citizens in prison following the protest against Nation's Road toll, Dritan Zagani forced to flee and Saimir Tahiri at the Parliament.

"Kukesi citizens, who spoke up against violence used by government to muzzle their struggle for the survival of their children, were arrested in the middle of the night and four of them are still in jail, sentenced as dangerous criminals. Dritan Zagani protected the state and its citizens, challenged crime, spoke against a government who betrayed the interests of its own people and was kidnapped in the middle of the night by the government who should have had protected him. On the other hand, Saimir Tahiri, the right hand of Edi Rama and the shield of drug trafficking and crime who transformed the State Police into a criminal organization is now free and enjoying the privileges of an MP. This is happening because in this regime Justice is ruled by Edi Rama", Basha said.
