Veliaj: Revamping Projects and Work Earn Us More Respect

The change Tirana has undergone has been seen as a success history in the meeting Mayor Erion Veliaj had with Irish architects in Dublin, a press release by the Municipality of Tirana said. New Now Next is an annual meeting where the Mayor of Tirana Presented projects such as Scanderbeg Square, New Bazar or New Boulevard. Veliaj said that other projects such as the revamping of the Pyramid are next in the very long line of projects.
"It was a pleasure for me to present them with the projects such as the transformation of the Pyramid and the New National Theater. Albania is finally being viewed beyond all political chit-chats in the international arena and it is getting positive review by artists and architects. Our architectural creations are introducing our little city in the world map and earning us respect. The work done by the Municipality and Government help us focus and join our efforts and it is also a fruit of the contribution of all citizens" Veliaj said, stressing that the anthem of Tirana is that of a hard working city.
During his stay in Dublin, the Mayor was received by the Deputy Taoiseach and Foreign Minister Simon Coveney as the two spoke about furthering relations between the two countries and capitals. Veliaj said that Coveney is a supporter of opening negotiations with Albania.
