Another judge on Albania's Constitutional Court, Altina Xhoxhaj, runs the risk of losing her job after not being able to justify her income to a vetting commission checking her personal and professional background.
But her lawyer, Entela Shejkala, said that the media presented false documents for the assets of Xhoxhaj.
"It is important to be clear. Only half of the apartment that the Independent Commission of Evaluation (ICE) says that Xhoxhaj cannot justify with her incomes is her property. The other half was donate to her by her cohabitant.
ICE pretended that Xhoxhaj cannot justify an apartment 109 m2, with a value of EUR 60.000 and another property in Gjiri i Lalzit area. She also has an apartment 101 m2 in the capital.
Asked by the media following the hearing session, Xhoxhaj claimed that "everything is legal". She demanded that she be reconfirmed into her job.
"I demand that I be reconfirmed because my assets and those of my husband are legal", she said. Speaking to journalists, she claimed that ICE calculations were flawed.
