The new Democratic Party statute which is scheduled to be voted on Friday is thought to ensure a fair and equal race in all levels, starting from the Chairman, sources say. Albaniannews.com learned from sources at the DP that the new Statute is to transfer the power to college bodies, thus strengthening the Leadership, National Council and the National Parliament. Thirdly, it aims to set a check and balance system between powers. The chairman is to be elected through a one member-one-vote basis but may be discharged by the proposal of half of National Council votes and by the approval of the National Parliament.
Sources at the DP say that the new Statute is to extend the powers of the National Council and that the guarantee of careers is a new concept in the new statute draft.
The new Statute is to be initially approved by the National Council on April 28, and subsequently proposed to the DP Parliament.
