SMI parliamentary group chairman Petrit Vasili told journalists that the opposition will not allow the roads concessions, emphasizing that the people has now taken the issue in their hands, as the stance for concessions is unshakable.
"The government has confirmed that it will carry on with concessions on other roads as well. Concessions cannot be applied. End of story. The people will have the final word. The fact that the PM continues to talk about concessions while the IMF and the US Embassy have called for concessions to stop means that the oligarchs have taken over. But Albania cannot be the victim of the oligarchs," he said.
Moreover, Vasili said the opposition won't give up on the cancellation of the Nation's Road toll fee, and insists on the release of citizens being held in prison. He also demanded the cancellation of the property and water tax as well as the cancellation of the small business inclusion in the VAT scheme.
