A team of professors and Phd students from the University of Bristol in UK together with the Albanian team have started an archaeology project in the south mountains of Nivica.
This is the first ever scientific project conducted in this region, part of the ancient Epir.
"We hope to answer a lot of questions about the population of this ancient part of south Albania, there interaction with coastline communities and their presence in many ancient ports of the Med with their trade and products," said the Director of the National Coast Agency, Auron Tare.
According to him, from there some of the most important trading routes crossed and several ancient sites cover with dust from a forgotten era.
