A quantity of 75 Kilogram of non-certified meat is seized by the National Food Authority (NFA) in Tirana.
A sudden inspection conducted last night by the NFA inspection in the house of Kristo Mukadesi led to the discovery of an illicit slaughterhouse.
Some 58.2 Kg of beef meat and 17 Kg of lamb meat were seized in quality of material proofs.
The slaughterhouse was immediately blocked by order of the NFA inspectors while the owner will now prosecuted on ground of meat trade in violation of food safety regulation.
NFA appeals to the consumers to denounce the presence of illegal slaughterhouses and avoid buying non-certified meat that do not comply with food safety standards.
