Clandestine Smuggling Attempt, Two Arrested in Shkodra

Two young men were arrested by Shkodra police while trying to smuggle some 15 Syrian clandestine to Montenegro. Aldo Ukaj, 32 and Alfon Capi, were arrested in flagrance on Sunday while transporting the clandestine with two different vehicles.



A third person, identified as G.G. 24 was declared wanted by the police.



Ukaj was handcuffed by the police officers in proximity of Bahcellek Bridge while transporting some 5 Syrian citizens with his Dacia vehicle platted AA 784 JO.



His collaborator Capi was stopped and arrested in Lezha - Shkoder axis while transporting 4 clandestine with his Renault vehicle platted AA 897 KU.



The remaining 6 Syrian clandestine were found near Bahcellek Bridge after being abandoned by G.G. who managed to elude capture.



The inquiry aimed to throw light on the full extent of this clandestine smuggling network is still ongoing.
