A drunk driver was arrested by Tirana police on Saturday night after a short pursuit.



The driver, whose name have not yet been released, refused to obey to the police officer sign to stop and tried to escape by moving at high speed. His attempt to elude capture failed a few minutes later when his car was blocked by the police patrols.



He will now face trial for driving under the effects of alcohol, speed-limits exceeding and objection to the police officer on duty.



This arrest in flagrance was the result of a series of inspections conducted by Road Police in Tirana. A number of drivers were fined for various violation of the Road Code.



Tirana Road Police urges drivers to respect the speed limits, fasten the seat-belt and avoid sitting behind the wheel under the effects of alcohol warning severe restrictions for the violators.
