Citizens and football enthusiasts of Korca, have filled on Wednesday the roads protesting peacefully for not condemning their heart football team, Skenderbeu, from UEFA by drafting a petition.
The call of hundreds of fans of Skanderbeg to UEFA to not condemn their heart team has been joined even by Sotiraq Filo, mayor of the southeastern city. Through a letter addressed to UEFA president Alexander Ceferin, Filo and the citizens urge him not to make a drastic decision.
"The city of Kor�a lives with football. We are Skanderbeg and this team is not just an emblem, it is a whole story of glory and pride. The merit of this resurrected spirit, the love for sport and the healthy lifestyle through sport, is obviously due to the successes and pride that awakened us all Skanderbeg team with its achievements. Sport must be clean and I strongly believe in the values and fairness of UEFA," says the letter.
They beg to not quit and not kill the resurrected hope and confidence of a nation for football.
