Measles virus is in epidemic level in Albania. Only within the last 24 hours, 37 persons were affected by this virus only in the capital, Tirana.
To discuss on this difficult situation, the deputy Minister of Health, Mira Rakacolli, was on Tuesday in the Work, Social Issues and Health Parliamentary Committee. She reported on the situation of measles and the management of this disease with serious consequences on the health of the population.
She announced that the first cases of those affected by measles were recorded on January 10 this year and only in the capital so far were affected 132 persons, of which 74% were unvaccinated.
10 thousand doses of measles vaccines are being used.
