Albania waits an invitation for the opening of accession negotiations with European Union next April. The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati confirmed on Monday Albania�s expectations on this issue.
�The fact that 2025 has been recently rumored as possible date for EU integration is seen as an impetus not as an objective. This is not a matter of dates. The EU strategy provides a horizon based on which every country is given the opportunity to exploit the instruments in function of EU enlargement perspective. This strategy presentation is a positive step, and we are confident that European Commission will recommend the opening of accession talks with Albania next April based on positive steps made by this country since 2016,� declared Bushati, during an activity organized in the European Integration and Negotiations Academy.
He underlined that Albanian government sees 2018 as a golden opportunity for the opening of accession negotiations.
