Some 100 students join 'Donate a tree', an initiative of the municipality of Tirana, expected to be finalized on March 21 with the planting of 100.000 trees. They planted a number of olive and mimosa trees in the hills surrounding the Artificial Lake.

Mayor Erion Veliaj praised the young boys and girls massive participation in the trees planting process, while adding that their presence would serve as encouragement for the initiative�s continuation.

�We are quickly approaching to the 100.000 trees target. These students participation in this initiative is a clear indicator of the creation of a new connection between the citizens and the city. I am deeply grateful to them and their parents for joining this campaign which gives a breath of fresh air to the city,� said Veliaj.
