Measles Virus Spreads, Over 1000 Endangered Children

Measles virus is risking to become an epidemic situation. The number of the children touched by this virus in Albania goes up to 17, and specialists believe that 1000 non vaccinated children risk to be infected.
All those infected are being held in the hospital.
The source of measles spread in Albania is suspected to be a Kosovo citizen who visited a close relative at 'Mother Teresa" Hospital a few days before the New Year.
From the infected person, it is thought that the virus may have been spread to those non vaccinated children that were occasionally at the hospital at the same moment for other concerns.
These children, after leaving the hospital, have spread the virus to their classmates.
From a single case that was released, within 20 days, the number went to 17. According to experts, it is thought that 1000 children are non vaccinated, are at high risk of dealing with this viral severe disease that might lead to death.
