The oppositions leader, Lulzim Basha denounced on Thursday Prime Minister Edi Rama attempt to defend the so-called Big Fishes of organized crime in Albania. Referring to the Socialist Party (SP) proposal for parliamentary regulation amendments by asking to the prosecution to present proofs for MPs mandate revocation he declared that this act would undo the Judicial Reform.
A special law that aims to protect the Big Fishes of organized crime has been proposed by PM Rama. If approved this amendment of the parliamentary regulation would transform Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) into a non-governmental organization. Then it would be up to PM Rama to decide over any MPs arrest. Not long ago the citizens witnessed the transformation of parliament into courthouse acting in defense of former-Socialist Minister of Interior, Sajmir Tahiri, declared Basha.
The Democrat leader stressed that opposition will strongly object this illicit act whose purpose is only one, to undo the judicial reform preventing the Big Fishes of crime from facing justice.
